The business

Wholesale customers reorder the same products again and again, usually by the carton. For them, a good ordering system is less about browsing and more about getting a regular order in quickly and knowing where it's up to.

On the other side, the warehouse needs orders to arrive complete and ready to pick, not as emails to be re-keyed.

The problem

SD Packaging needed a public website for its product range, a simple way for customers to order and reorder by the carton, and a single place for the warehouse to see and work through incoming orders.

The approach

  • Designed the ordering around regular customers: account ordering and one-tap reorder of previous orders.
  • Built a warehouse dashboard showing live orders, with pick slips that print straight from it.
  • Kept the public product range simple to browse on a phone.
  • Built as a custom system, so ordering by the carton, reordering and warehouse picking work the way the business does.

The build

What BetterFlow
built.

  • Public website and product range
  • Online ordering by the carton with one-tap reorder
  • Account ordering for regular customers
  • Order status tracking
  • Warehouse order dashboard with pick-slip printing

On phones

Product browsing and reordering are designed for phones, so a regular customer can place their usual order in a few taps.

Search engines

The public website and product range have their own page titles and descriptions for search. The ordering and warehouse areas are private and aren't meant to appear in search results.

The outcome

The website, ordering system and warehouse dashboard are built. It hasn't been publicly launched yet, so this case study describes what was built rather than results.
