Case study · Online shop
Building an online shop
for personalised gifts.
D²ThreeD is a Melbourne business making personalised and made-to-order 3D printed gifts and custom products.

The business
Personalised products don't fit neatly into a standard shop template. Customers need to choose options and add their own details, and some of the best orders start as a one-off idea that isn't in the catalogue at all.
The problem
The shop had to sell ready-made and personalised products with their options, take payments securely, explain shipping and dispatch clearly, and give customers with a custom idea an easy way to ask for it.
The approach
- Chose a custom build over an off-the-shelf template, because personalisation and made-to-order work were central to the business.
- Used proven building blocks: hosting on Vercel, a Supabase database, and Stripe for secure card payments.
- Organised products into seasonal collections so new ranges can be featured without redesigning the shop.
- Added a custom-order enquiry pathway alongside the shop for one-off requests.
The build
What BetterFlow
built.
- Product pages with options and personalisation
- Cart, wishlist and secure Stripe checkout
- Seasonal collections
- Shipping and dispatch information
- Custom-order enquiry pathway

On phones
Product browsing, personalisation and checkout are laid out for phones as well as desktop, so the whole purchase can be done on a small screen.
Search engines
Products and collections have their own pages, and the shop is described for search in plain terms: its homepage title is "Personalised Gifts & Custom Products Melbourne".
The outcome
The shop is live: customers can browse, personalise and pay online, and send one-off ideas through the custom-order pathway.
